Celeb Style Sunday: Pauly D

So, my best friend Jennie is visiting from San Diego and we are watching old episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 (and swooning over Dylan McKay, of course) as we always do. The best part of watching the old episodes is laughing at the hideous fashion and hairstyles of the early 90's. Then tonight, as I was sifting through recent celeb photos, I noticed a photo of Jersey Shore's Pauly D visiting Disney World. Normally I wouldn't waste any time looking at a photo of Pauly D, but he happens to have the exact same haircut as Brian Austin Green, a.k.a. David Silver, circa 1992. It is beyond me why anyone would want to bring back this haircut. Let's just hope people don't start sporting the high-waited jeans and ginormous scrunchies again.

This week's addictions . . .

A few years ago, I started to get really sick of mall shopping. Sometimes it feels like you are just looking at the same designs season after season and then you end up purchasing the same item that a million other people are wearing. Now don't get me wrong, I think places like H&M and Express are great places to shop for affordable basics (most of my work pants are the Editor pant from Express). However, I love the idea of wearing something fresh and unique. I also love being able to support up-and-coming designers. That's why websites like Etsy make my heart smile. In addition to Etsy, here are a few other websites that are great for shopping and showcase a wide range of designers, some bigger and some smaller, but all wonderful:
Ruche Dear Creatures at Indie Fashion Addict
Ruche - This site has tons of great clothing and accessories including sections dedicated to handmade, eco-friendly and plus size items.
Indie online shops at Indie Fashion Addict
Need Supply - This site stocks some of my favorite designers including BB Dakota, Gentle Fawn and David David.
Mod Cloth at Indie Fashion Addict
Mod Cloth - This is definitely one of the biggest and well-known indie fashion websites out there. They have a huge selection of clothing, accessories, housewares and vintage items.

Jessica Louise - Halloween Style

Jessica Louise Halloween at Indie Fashion Addict
I've been a fan of Los Angeles-based designer Jessica Louise for years - ever since a friend of mine did some modeling for her. When I first started buying her clothing, it was only available online and in select boutiques. Her popularity has steadily increased over the years, and in fall of 2008 she designed her own line for Hot Topic. Now, she has teamed up with Halloween City and created a collection of Halloween costumes in her signature punk rock, yet feminine style. Costume choices include a tiger girl, a pirate, a bumble bee and a roller derby chick, plus several mix and match separates and accessories. Oh, and you know how Halloween costumes are often ridiculously expensive? Well, you can purchase a full Jessica Louise costume for only $29.99. You can also check out her blog for a chance to win a free costume.

Celeb Style Sunday: Conviction Premiere

Conviction premiere photo at Indie Fashion Addict

Juliette Lewis, Minnie Driver and Hillary Swank attended the premiere of their new film "Conviction" this week. I like Juliette's dress. I love Minnie's dress. Hillary's dress is blinding me. There is such a thing as too much sparkle. And they all look like they could use a solid meal or two. Whose look do you like best?

Addiction: Good Morning - Midnight

In case you don't know, Etsy has a "suggested shops" feature that, well, suggests shops to you based on your favorites. I have become very fond of this feature and happen to think it's getting to know me quite well. While perusing through my "suggested shops" the other night, I discovered a shop that I would like to suggest to you: Good Morning - Midnight. First of all, I love the shop name. Second, I love their simple, modern designs and their love of shapes. I actually want every single thing in this shop. Oh, and they even sell stuff for guys.
